The Salzburg Card offers you one-time free admission to all major sights and museums in the city of Salzburg as well as free use of public transport in the city area.
You also receive numerous other benefits, such as discounts on cultural events or excursion destinations. This means you save on both admission and travel costs and enjoy a comfortable stay in Salzburg.
The Salzburg Card is available in three versions: 24, 48 or 72 hours. The validity period only begins with the first use of the pass.
The card is scanned electronically each time you enter or travel (scan on the reader). The time starts to run from this first scan. Example: If you use a 24-hour pass for the first time at 10:00 a.m., it is valid until 10:00 a.m. the next day.
With the Salzburg Card, you only get one free admission per attraction. Each attraction can be visited once with the pass.
Multiple visits to the same attraction are not included - you would have to pay for additional visits separately.
The Salzburg Card is valid as a ticket for almost the entire city transport network:
The card isnot valid on ÖBB S-Bahn lines (rapid transit) in the greater Salzburg area.
Yes, Salzburg Airport is connected to the network by city trolleybus lines - these buses are included in the Salzburg Card.
For example, the trolleybus line 2 runs from the main train station to the airport and can be used free of charge with a valid Salzburg Card. A separate airport transfer is therefore not necessary if you use the public bus.
There is generally no separate fast-track entrance in Salzburg in the sense of special express lanes.
However, the Salzburg Card allows free and fast entry to all attractions, as no ticket purchase is required on site. In practice, you can therefore use the pass to go straight to the entrance at many attractions and save time at the ticket offices.
There is a reduced Salzburg Card for children and young people up to around 15 years of age - they pay around half the regular price.
Small children under the age of 6 do not need a Salzburg Card, as they usually have free admission to Salzburg's museums anyway. For adults there is only the standard rate - there are no special discounts for senior citizens or students.
You can get the Salzburg Card both digitally and on site. When purchasing online, a digital Salzburg Card is issued which you can use immediately on your smartphone.
Alternatively, you can purchase the pass on site in Salzburg - e.g. at the reception of almost any hotel, at all tourist information points, at the main train station or at the airport. Tip: When booking online, you can select the starting day and download the digital card directly to your cell phone.
Yes, unused Salzburg Cards can be canceled free of charge at any time. If you bought the card in advance but did not use it, you will get your money back.
To cancel, simply send an email to [email protected] with your purchase details. Note: If the card has already been used/activated, a refund is generally not possible.
Unfortunately, no replacement can be issued if the Salzburg Card is lost. You are not entitled to a replacement card or refund - so treat the card as a valuable document and keep it safe.
In the event of theft or loss, you would have to purchase a new card at the regular price.
The Salzburg Card is personal and non-transferable. Each pass is only valid if it is completely filled in with your name.
It cannot be passed on to other people - the pass is only valid for the person who purchased it and entered it on the card. In the case of digital cards, this corresponds to the personal QR code, which may also not be passed on to third parties.
