What is the Salzburg Card?+

The Salzburg Card is the official tourist card for Salzburg: one-time free admission to over 20 attractions plus free use of public transport, for 24, 48 or 72 hours. Included are, among others: Hohensalzburg Fortress, Mozart's Birthplace, Hellbrunn Palace and the House of Nature. More on the FAQ page.

How do I receive the Salzburg Card after purchase?+

Important: You will first receive a digital voucher by email, which must be exchanged for the physical Salzburg Card on-site. Redemption points:

  • Tourist Info Mozartplatz 5 - daily 9am-5pm (Jan-Mar: closed on Sundays)
  • Südtirolerplatz 1 (Main Railway Station)
  • Shuttle bus No. 18 to the Old Town
When does the validity period begin?+

The time starts only upon the first use of the physical card, not at the time of purchase or exchange. Example: First use at 10:00 am, card valid until 10:00 am the following day (for 24h). Tip: Activate the card late in the morning to get the most out of it.

Which public transport services are included?+

Valid for: Trolleybus lines 1-14, Albus lines 20-28, 31, 34-36, 151, Local railway S1 to Acharting and selected Postbus routes to the surrounding area. Trolleybus line 2 to the airport is also included. Not valid for ÖBB S-Bahn lines.

Can the voucher be cancelled?+

Yes, unredeemed vouchers can be cancelled or rebooked free of charge up to 24 hours before the visit date. Once the card has been redeemed and activated, no refund is possible.
